All day - really?
The Bible says to pray with out ceasing.
Alright, I get that. In fact, I prefer that kind of prayer. The kind that is a natural overflow of my heart during the routine of my day.
"Lord, give me strength." "Jesus, I need your guidance in this decision." "God, thank you for your presence."
Honestly, it takes the pressure off. I don't have to formulate fancy (pastor) words for my prayer. All I need to do is whisper authentic words - morning, noon and night.
In this article, Andrew Thompson, provides excellent insight into incorporating prayer into our daily discipleship. Read the article here.
He suggests praying short, "Breath Prayers" as we navigate our daily schedule. It's this type of prayer that bonds us to our Heavenly Father in a real way, all day!
He also quotes Clement of Alexandria who said, “Prayer, to speak somewhat boldly, is converse with God. Even if we address Him in a whisper, without opening our lips, or uttering a sound, still we cry to Him in our heart. For God never ceases to listen to the inward converse of the heart.”
Breathe deep. Whisper to God. He is with you.
